MOCK APPLE PIE
Have a couple of apples sitting on  the counter as you make this pie

1-1/2 cups granulated sugar

2 cups water

2 tablespoons cream of tartar

2 tablespoons of butter

22 saltine crackers

1 “no fail” pie crust

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, cream of tartar and butter. Bring to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the mixture and continue to boil for approximately 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Crush the saltine crackers and put in the pie crust. Pour mixture from saucepan into a 9” unbaked pie crust and sprinkle the top with cinnamon. Bake for 40 minutes or until done.

1-1/2 tablespoons sugar

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1/2 tablespoons salt
